My Story
When I was twenty-seven years old I was diagnosed with breast cancer. During my treatment, I was seriously disappointed with the lack of choice when it came to headwear for women experiencing hair loss. Everywhere I looked I found poorly-fitting paisley bandanas and itchy towelling turbans. So, after an embarrassing afternoon that involved the wind taking the headscarf off my head in the centre of town, I decided to do something about my situation.
I became acquainted with my mum’s sewing machine. I spent hours working on my technique and my designs until I came up with headwear that I would proud to wear. My next chemo session would prove to be the turning point for me. I was overwhelmed with the compliments I received. I also received several requests to make headscarves for other people.
I’ve been running this business for eight years now and my purpose has remained the same. I design and source headwear which is not only beautiful and elegant, but comfortable, fashionable and easy to work with. I use only the softest, non-irritating materials because I understand how sensitive your scalp can be. I ensure each piece fits securely so that you won’t have any embarrassing slippages.
I have a great selection of simple pull-on-and-go styles for all those unexpected doorbell moments. I stock hats and scarves to suit all face shapes and colourings. Whether you’re nipping out to the shops, heading out for that special night or just lounging about in the house, you’ll find something to suit your needs here. I can also provide bespoke headwear if you have a particular special occasion you’re getting ready for.
What I really love about this business is being able to provide everyone with a personalised service. I have been through chemotherapy and hair loss. I have been through exactly what you may be going through now and I know how personal an experience it can be. If you have any questions, feel free to call or email me. I’m here to help you.
